Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Munich/Freising

Welcome to Germany!

After you land, we will greet you at the Munich airport before taking you to your hotel in Freising. Based around 25 minutes north of Munich, Freising is the oldest city in Bavaria, with a rich 1300 year history. Here you can enjoy a little downtime or a spot of sightseeing before the tour briefing. Oh, and if you arrive early, you can hop on the train to Munich. A swift ride will take you to the beautiful capital of Bavaria. At 4 PM, we'll host an introductory meeting, and wrapping up our first day in a traditional Bavarian restaurant, toasting our forthcoming adventure with a local craft beer or two. Prost!

Day 2: Munich - Füssen

One day two of our exciting convertible adventure, we will meander southwards through pastoral Bavaria, taking in the lagoon-like blue lakes and quaint medieval towns along the way. We will also visit Linderhof, the king’s very own private retreat, nestled by Garmisch in the Wetterstein Mountains.

Next, we will cruise a series of gentle sweepers, driving towards Austria, connecting to the legendary German "Alpine Road" as we press on to Füssen. This magnificent city is the southernmost point of the "Romantic Road", and is an idyllic place for visiting the royal palace of Neuschwanstein, the inspiration for Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.

Day 3: Füssen - Lake Constance

On day three of our Black Forest & Alsace convertible adventure, we will pay a visit to one of King Ludwig’s most famous castles — Neuschwanstein. This impressive work of architectural art was one of three palaces built by the Swan King — a magical structure that eventually became the inspiration for the castle in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.

We will enjoy a guided castle tour before continuing our exciting convertible cruise to Lake Constance on the Rhine, a stunning region at the northern foot of the Alps and the biggest lake in Central Europe. We will spend the night on the island of Lindau, surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks.

Day 4: Lake Constance - Ribeauville

On day four, our convertible tour takes us to Ribeauville. First, we will cruise into Switzerland to soak in Europe’s mightiest waterfall, the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen.

With a width of 150 meters, the Rhine cascades over rocks from an impressive height of 23 meters. Next, we will leave Switzerland in pursuit of the Southern Black Forest, cruising a series of meandering roads. In the afternoon, we will drive past Freiburg, crossing into France, enjoying a swift glimpse at the Alsace Wine Route and its quaint villages including Colmar and Ribeauville, into the Vosges Mountains, covering a huge area of the Alsacian territory.

Day 5: Ribeauville rest day

Everyone needs a little downtime and there’s no better place to relax than in the Alsace.

Ribeauville, in particular, boasts an incredible architectural legacy. Timber-framed houses, typically characterised by flat clay tiles and semi-timbered building fronts, are found throughout the area. While enjoying a little break from all the driving action, we will indulge in legendary Alsatian wines exclusive to the area as well as lip-smacking local cuisine. And, if you still want to drive on day five, you can cruise the exciting loop of twisty, hilly roads up to Vosges Regional Natural Park — magic.

Day 6: Ribeauville - Black Forest

After a little rest, it’s time to buckle up for another exhilarating day of convertible driving! To kick things off, we will head back towards Germany, driving deep into the dramatic Black Forest via the iconic route B 500. Here you will encounter a mix of hairpins, lefts, rights and long, fast sweeping bends.

This sensational drive is your chance to explore the thriving local countryside, peppered with pretty villages, rolling hills, and the highest of Germany's waterfalls in the city of Triberg. To wrap up the day, we will pass the spa town of Baden-Baden before cruising the northern Black Forest.

Day 7: Black Forest - Rothenburg ob der Tauber

One can certainly feel "royal" today as we will be following the incredible Castle Trail, known as Burgenstrasse in German.

The name of this east to west route delivers on its promise — a route lined with colossal castles, taking you through romantic medieval towns for nearly 1,200 km. This scenic ride hugs the Neckar River as it passes through beautiful countryside. After an exhilarating day's driving, we will reach Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany's best-kept walled town in the Franconian heartland. Here we will marvel at medieval masterpieces and spend time exploring the hidden gems at traditional artisanal markets.

Day 8: Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Munich

On day eight, more scenic driving awaits as we drop down into the stunning Altmühl Valley, winding through alluring Bavarian landscape complete with churches and abbeys, regal palaces, and mighty castles.

We will pass through Ingolstadt, known for the world-renowned Audi Automobile Museum. By late afternoon, we will continue our convertible driving adventure until we see the legendary landscape of Munich once more. In the evening, we will all meet for a big, indulgent farewell meal to toast our incredible adventure.

Day 9: Munich/ Freising departure

Day nine and it's time to fly.

In the morning, we will say a fond farewell until we meet again for another unforgettable driving adventure. If you have an afternoon flight, you can spend a little time exploring the Old Town on foot, soaking in the local sights one last time before boarding your flight and reminiscing on your amazing journey.
