In some remote areas the roads can get a little rough, narrow and winding. Roads along the Mediterranean coast are usually excellent, curving high above the beautiful coastline. Athens is a big city with some congestion, so your pace may become slower than expected.

Greece has a Mediterranean environment, mild winters and hot, dry summers. Winter is quiet. Then around Easter, Greeks begin setting up for the summer tourist season, which can get crowded. Rooms and vacant stretches of sand are rare in the high summer season. So the best time to ride Greece is from April through June and in September and October, to avoid the traffic and crowds.
